Gurgaon, India 8 January 2012 - Business Continuity has been incorporated into part of India's corporate landscape for some many years until the September 11 event has implored organizations worldwide to relook into their business strategies to ensure firm Business Continuity practice is in place. Meanwhile in India, Business Continuity is steadily gaining relevance in both the country's private and public sector, as the world economies turns to India for further growth opportunities resulting the off-shoring boom throughout recent years.
Until today, the question "are we prepared?" may have yet yield a definite answer nor a comprehensive paper to substantiate to that, why not, look deeper within your organization for a solution? This MTE seminar jointly hosted by Genpact and BCM Institute bring the discussion to India in Gurgaon, Haryana, India. This is the beginning of a series of gatherings for BCM and DR professionals within each cities in India for 2012. The seminar is accompanied by a qualifiying certification preparatory course and examination in each indian city.

China, Beijing 5 January 2012 -- BCM Institute and China Business Continuity Management Professional Forum (CBCM) announce the establishment of the representation of BCM Institute's education and certification program in China. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed in conjunction with the 8th China BCM Executive Forum in Beijing. The establishment marks another milestone of promoting stronger collaboration between the China and Asia Pacific region. The focus is on organizations and businesses endeavoring in the development of Risk Management, Crisis management, Business Continuity Management and Disaster Recovery.

Both BCM Institute and CBCM through the partnership believe that this is a step by step approach to localize global practices by establishing a platform that enables industrial experts from the region and beyond to explore and enhance the China's BCM, DR and crisis management development. As a result, BCM Institute with CBCM in China is set to provide access to industrial peers, theories, case studies, learning experiences and best practices transfer. Both collaborators and its associates are indeed hopeful that this will catalyze the development of the local BCM, DR and crisis management arena towards global competitiveness.
The Memorandum of Understanding which was signed in conjunction with China's 8th BCM Executive Forum themed Business Continuity Best Practices and Wisdoms at the Empark Grand Hotel, Beijing was witnessed by various supporting parties - welcoming a greater China - Asia Pacific BCM experts and organizations coalition. The signing is between Professor Chen Jianxin, Chairman of CBCM and Dr Goh Moh Heng, President of BCM Institute. Among them were Senior Executives from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of The People's Republic of China, Beijing Research Centre of Urban Systems Engineering, The People's Bank of China, The Advisory Committee for State Informatization (ACSI), Beijing Academy of Science and Technology, China National Offshore Oil Corporation, National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), People’s Republic of China, and Standardization Administration of the Peoples Republic of China.

We have reached the end of 2011 and it is a good time, as business continuity and disaster recovery professionals, to reflect on the challenges of the past year. BCM Institute is glad to have served you and your team members in your education and certification needs. As partners, we just want to extend a warm thank you for your continued support in our efforts to evangelise this movement of being more resilient.
Encouraged by your support, we will renew our efforts in 2012 to reach out to the community through a series of Asian conferences starting with World Continuity Congress or WCC 2012 in Singapore in March, followed by WCC Thailand and WCC Malaysia. Our regular Meet-the Expert (MTE) seminars have also now expanded to India, China and Indonesia.

Jakarta, 3 October 2011 -- Asia's premier Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery live forum MEET THE EXPERTS made its debut in Indonesia recently attracting senior executives and managers of risk, business continuity and disaster recovery. These executives from banks, manufacturing companies and government agencies were looking at Business Continuity Planning as possible opportunities to improve the governance of their organisations.

Singapore, 12 October 2011 -- Cloud Disaster Recovery is probably the most discussed topic in recent years among Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery practitioners.
While cloud technology appears to be the next new thing in town, individuals and businesses, whether they know it or not, have already been using this technology for some time. Facebook, GoogleApps and Skype are just a few cloud-based applications that just to name a few, that are commonly available for free or at a minimal cost. For businesses, the improved resiliency coupled with potential cost savings, ease of implementation, flexibility, scalability and business agility seem to make Cloud technology every Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery manager's dream.

By 8.30am, on 28 September, barely few hours after the time the disaster was declared by Empire Shopping Gallery’s General Manager, May Woo, Infinity Consulting Technology Sdn Bhd operations were already up and running from their alternate site located in Cyberjaya and Teknologi Park Malaysia. By 12 noon, all staffs, including critical and support functions were already reporting to work at either one of the sites. By then, all staffs were already aware of each other's safety status through mobile phones, text messages, emails and facebook.
