International Business Continuity Peer Forum Reaches Jakarta

mte_indonesia300Jakarta, 3 October 2011 -- Asia's premier Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery live forum MEET THE EXPERTS made its debut in Indonesia recently attracting senior executives and managers of risk, business continuity and disaster recovery. These executives from banks, manufacturing companies and government agencies were looking at Business Continuity Planning as possible opportunities to improve the governance of their organisations.

The MEET THE EXPERTS seminar through this debut, created an avenue for continuous learning and sharing among Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery managers. The organizers of the event, BCM Institute, believes that this platform would allow professionals access to peers and experts thereby increasing their knowledge of innovative strategies which could help in their organization's growth.

The seminar held on September 27th 2011 in Menara Prima, Jakarta, hosted two of the finest Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery experts in Asia. Ms Theresia Andita Lim BCCE,Senior Manager, Enterprise Security from PT Bank Central Asia shared on her account how one of the largest bank in the Indonesia enhanced its processes through the country-wide implementation of its Business Continuity Plan. Dr Goh Moh Heng, President of BCM Institute shared with participants on how buillding an organization's human competency in Business Continuity could lead to a more resilient organization.

Indonesia, with its fast growing economy, has been faced with numerous business threats from natural disasters. Disasters such as floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, and forest fires have resulted in significant losses through business disruptions.  Therefore a Business Continuity Plan is necessary in every organization to ensure resiliency in times of business disruptions. Many organizations have already developed such plans, either because of requirements passed down from their multinational parent companies, partners or clients.
