SecureAsia featured a panel discussion that posed questions such as ways to mitigate the risk of cyberattacks. Col Husin shared with Themed “Building a Secure Connected Future”, the attendees that because many economies place a high reliance on cyberspace and while no nation can be spared from cyberattacks in the political and economic spheres, to counter such attacks, a nation should create a balanced ecosystem where the service providers are given responsibility to manage abuses. Secondly the ecosystem should have a formal arbitration process to address issues transparently.

Recently honoured with the 2010 Harold F. Tipton Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his distinguished information security career, what motivated him to volunteer his time to BCM Institute’s Advisory Council? “Well, I volunteer my expertise on various platforms and I certainly support platforms that offer good CSR for the business continuity and disaster recovery global community. So in this regard, BCM Institute furthers the cause for promoting education through BCMPedia, the BC-DR forum as well as its complimentary Meet-the-Expert (MTE) sessions”, added Col Husin.
