Back To Basics: Getting Started with BC-DR Planning and Best Practices

mte_brunei [Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam, 24 September 2010] The unsung heroes from large to medium-sized organisations, BC-DR professionals serve an important function in organisations - working tirelessly to ensure that their organizations are fully prepared for disruptions arising from disasters by subjecting their business continuity and disaster recovery plans to rigorous tests.

The authenticity of their test findings rely solidly on a fundamental and universal understanding of Business Continuity Management. To better prepare BC-DR professionals during disasters, BCM Institute will be partnering with ILM Academy (ICT Leadership and Management) in the highly anticipated seminar, Back to Basics: Getting Started with Business Continuity (BC)/Disaster Recovery (DR) Planning and Best Practices led by the prolific President of BCM Institute, Dr Goh Moh Heng.

Held on the 29th September 2010 at the ILM Academy, TelBru Headquarters at Old Airport in Berakas, registration for the event will start at 8:30 am with morning coffee and a chance to network with fellow practitioners. Tapping on his career and consulting experiences, Dr Goh, will also delve into the challenges and best practices in business continuity planning as well as solutions to some of the challenges that organizations face when they implement their business continuity plan in "Back to Basics: Getting Started with Business Continuity (BC)/Disaster Recovery (DR) Planning and Best Practices." During the presentation, participants will also learn about the components of an effective BC-DR plan implementation. They will be provided with a walk-through on how a typical BC plan is implemented. What is the requirement for implementing the BC plan? What templates are needed? How do I get my management to be involved in the development of the BC plan?

Aside from getting answers to pressing questions such as the requirement for implementing the BC plan, the templates to use and ways to get management buy-in the BC plan will be addressed as well. The seminar will conclude with a panel discussion on the challenges and good practices for implementing business continuity planning for organisations within Brunei. To attend this complimentary event, or to find out more details about the program, click here.
