WCC Singapore 2012: Blazing Forward In The World of Business Continuity & Risk Management

Singapore, March With a round of applause, the curtains came down on the 12th World Continuity Congress entitled ‘Evolving Crisis & Disaster Management In A Borderless World’ heralded in the prestigious Intercontinental Hotel Singapore on the 6th of March 2012. The event was spearheaded by a number of keynote speakers and fellow BCM practitioners from all around the world. Coming together to discuss, address and share their experiences with the attending delegates on economical and business issues in this ever changing world.

The World Continuity Congress continues to top the Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery forums in the Asia Pacific, tending to coverage of current trends and issues. Some of our esteemed speakers included Dr. Goh Moh Heng, Mr. Bhakorn Vanuptikul, Ms. Kathy Dubé, Mr. Hans Boudestein, Mr. Arunabh Mitra, Ms. Selena Huynh, Mr. Gopakumar Nair and many more. All of which are leading experts in their own field and industry.

Dr. Goh Moh Heng provided an insight on the future of Business Continuity Management with his presentation“The Future of Business Continuity Management: It’s All in the Mind”, covering the trends in which the world of business had taken to, adapted and even changed over the course of time. Professor Kenji Watanabe, yet another of our esteemed speakers elaborated on Japan’s earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis in his presentation“Managing the Supply Chain Risks During the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake”. Meanwhile the cause and effect of the Bangkok floods were tackled by Mr. Bhakorn Vanuptikul in“The Flooding in Thailand: Lessons Learned When Preparing your Organizations for a Catastrophic Event”.

Lessons and pitfalls were offered to our fellow attending peers ranging from senior executives, corporate leaders and delegates from both private and public sectors in Singapore, Malaysia, India and even Thailand and beyond.

The floor was eventually opened for questions for the attending delegates to quench their thirst for knowledge and the hopes of gaining a better insight into the importance of Business Continuity Management.

The World Continuity Congress also honors recipients of the 2012 Resilience Awards in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
