Course Description

Crisis Management Blended Learning Course (BL-CM-5)

The Crisis Management Blended Learning is a comprehensive Crisis Management course equivalent to the international certification Crisis Management Expert Implementer.  Its combination of both online and face to face interaction allows busy crisis management executives to study with minimal disruption to their schedule.

The course is divided into 4 modules where each module allows you to understand crisis management fundamentals,  deploy crisis management templates, manage a crisis management team, execute crisis communication and develop a crisis simulation exercise.

The course would put more emphasis on pandemic management and how it relates to crisis management.

It is expected to be completed within 12 weeks.

MODULES

Module 1 – Crisis Management  E-Learning Course

Note: Participant is expected to complete Module 1 within 4 weeks after registering before pursuing Module 2.

Module 2 – Facilitated Online Workshop

Participants will be given the opportunity to practice the fundamental concepts of how to select a crisis management strategy, implement a crisis management plan and exercise and test these plans.  They would be provided actual templates of these plans to familiarise and use as hands-on practice.

These are to be done after pre-reading materials and guidance are disseminated. Participants are to attempt the templates for each concept per stage.

This hands-on practice would be facilitated by senior industry practitioners that include current crisis management managers, consultants and vice presidents from international institutions. This would be done via our online facilitated workshops.

Note: Participants are required to submit their assignment for each stage and will be assessed at the end of each stages’ session (there are a total of 3 sessions for Module 2). The assignments are expected to be completed and submitted to the facilitator within 2 days after each session.

For those who registers for CM-300 course, you are required to sit for the Crisis Management Certified Specialist (CMCS) examination.

Module 3 & 4 – Facilitated Online Workshop

In Module 3, participants will explore their role as crisis management manager and the importance of crisis leadership. They will be walking through the different crisis phases and understand how the ISO 22300 Societal Security –  Guidelines for Incident Preparedness and Operational Continuity Management can be implemented.

Similar to Module 2, pre-readings and guidance notes would be shared before participants join a 2 x 2-hours facilitated online workshop on different days.

It would then be followed up by Module 4 where participants will be tasked to design a crisis simulation that would be able to test a person’s role and function in a crisis or emergency.

Participants would be provided pre-readings and guidance notes before they present in the 2 x 2-hours facilitated online workshop.

Since 2011, Dr Goh had served as global head for Standard Chartered Bank and tthe Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, now known as GIC.  Moh Heng has assisted more than 100 organisations, particularly those operating in the Asia-Pacific and Middle-East Region in their successful implementation of their Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) and achieving their BS 25999/ SS 540 / ISO 22301 organisation certification.

Certification

Crisis Management Certified Planner (CMCP) Certification is awarded to all who complete all the 4 modules of the CM-5000 Blended Learning course.

Crisis Management Certified Expert (CMCE) Certification is awarded to participants who successfully completed all Blended Learning sessions, passes the live assessments and pass the Qualifying CMCE examination at the end of the module, sends in an application detailing at least 3 years of CM experience, and satisfies and meets the experience requirements of the independent certification body.
