OR-5000: Operational Resilience Expert Implementer
Eight (8) 3 hour sessions + Assignment + Examination
Operational Resilience Blended Learning Course (BL-OR-5)
This holistic business continuity management (BCM) course is primarily designed for BC professionals or anyone interested in implementing or managing business continuity for their organisation.
The course is divided into 4 modules where each module allows you to understand the BCM fundamentals, practice and implement an actual risk assessment, business impact analysis, business continuity strategy and plan as well as in-depth discussion on how to engage management and the BCM team when the BCM plan has been implemented. Participants would also be able to have a fundamental knowledge of crisis management and command centre management.
The course would put more emphasis on pandemic management and how it relates to business continuity.
It is expected to be completed within 8 weeks.
This Operational Resilience (OR) Fundamentals package is ideal for a new OR practitioner who would like to know the end-to-end process of how to start an Operational Resilience program for their organization as well as maintain it once it has been implemented. This is a workshop-facilitated online module.
Module 2 – Facilitated Online Workshop
Participants will be given the opportunity to recognize and analyze types of operational disruptions, identify important and critical business services, and perform scenario testing via hands-on and interactive sessions with fellow participants from various industries.
These are assessments to be done after pre-reading materials and guidance are disseminated. Participants are to attempt the templates for each concept per stage.
This hands-on practice would be facilitated by senior industry practitioners that include current BCM managers, consultants and vice presidents from international financial institutions and higher educational institutions. This would be done via our online facilitated workshops.
Note: Participants are required to submit their assignment for each stage and will be assessed at the end of each stage’s session (there are a total of 2 sessions for Module 2). The assignments are expected to be completed and submitted to the facilitator within 2 days after each session.
Module 3 & 4 – Facilitated Online Workshop
Module 3 discusses advanced issues in managing an operational resilience programme for an organization. Considerations in planning and execution are discussed, such as the development of an operational resilience framework that enables it to satisfy the regulatory requirements.
Similar to Module 2, pre-readings and guidance notes would be shared before participants join a two (2) 3-hour facilitated online workshop on different days.
It would then be followed up by Module 4 where participants will be taught about implementing building blocks to implement the operational resilience framework.
During the last three modules, the OR plan and program have been developed and approved by management. To put the final set of the “Manage” competency is learning how the other program within your organization is synchronized with the OR program.
Participants would be provided pre-readings and guidance notes before they present in the two (2) 3-hour facilitated online workshop.
